MORE than held your own with the panel.
I love your show
From Ottawa (Canada) I caught your
station night time AM Band (not steady,
it comes and goes). I could hear some
of your comments. Very interesting
show. Keep up the good job.
A
big surprise ! I thought you were
full of flesh.... like a McDo Mom.
I imagine you a heavy woman, I did
not expect to see you so beautiful
and sexy.
Anyway,
Happy New Year, from Canada.
We have a lot of snow and it is very
cold and hearing your voice around
10 pm bring some warm.

Hello
Leslie,
My
name is Brian, I am a 22-year-old
Journalism/Pre-Law student at the
University of Arizona. I've been listening
to your show, today, for the first
time. I like the topic, the man who
was required to cover his shirt before
getting on the plane because the arabic
writing made people "uncomfortable."
I've been trying to call in to comment
on this. First, I want you to know
I would not be uncomfortable at all.
I like seeing people who express themselves
and do it boldly. I havn't heard you
mention the term though I'm sure your
familiar, this WAS prior restraint
and obviously the courts agreed. I
think the larger picture, and I want
to know if you agree, is what I've
been seeing among my generation: the
willingness to do anything to self
censor anyone who seems "offensive"
"creepy" "awkward"
"rude" "difficult"
etc. I'd like to tell you a story
about what happened, and made national
news, on the UofA campus when the
student body president and his student
council attempted to silence the student
paper for something that was misunderstood
as racist, but was a "mistake"
and at that, one that anyone who researched
the issue realized was not racist
in the least. I've been covering and
documenting the progress of students
reactions all semester and I am very
disturbed and worried for our country's
future if my peers, the ones who want
to run this country, think its ok
to censor people just because others
react uncomfortably. Especially when
they are misinformed. I will be a
lawyer one day, perhaps con law or
media law. Please feel free to contact
me.
Thanks
i
love your show, you're the best host
around.
i admire the fact that you allow everyone
to voice their opinions, and you don't
screen your calls, like many others,
thats the mark of a great host, when
you can handle anything.
keep
up the good work
i'm
sick of george w bush, and his legacy
project, he's hired people to put
a positive spin, on his presidential
legacy, this is like totaling you'r
car and putting nail polish on the
scratches.
he's still president, he should be,
maybe looking for binladen, working
on fixing social security, which is
the only area not to be bailed out
that should be.
bush is selfish, and only cares about
himself, this comment, that, "we
haven't been attacked again",
is absurd, america should,ve prevented
9/11, the administration had, ample
warning, this comment, is like, someone's
house getting robbed, despite, the
police warning the citizens, of a
similiar attacks in the area, and
then 7 years years later, while you're
house sitting, you say, "at least
we haven't been robbed again, while
i,ve been house sitting"
your show rocks.
Hi
Leslie, I heard you on the radio and
I heard your opinion about the conflict
between the Palestinians and Isrealis
and I wanted to tell you that I never
heard a radio talk show host so so
honest and fair in these matters like
you I hope that there will be more
fair people like you on the radio
so people understand the reality of
this conflict.
Hello
Leslie from Leslie in Montreal, I
picked up your show a few days ago
on 1520 am It faded in and out but
I enjoyed your spunk. Hope to hear
you some more
Hey
Leslie,
First
off, let me say I respect you for
what you do, I respect the stances
you hold and I believe you do have
the best interests of the country
in mind in all you do. Also I respect
anyone who can entertain themselves
as well as their Peoples for the amount
of time that you do.
I
don't know if you remember my call
at all, but it was back sometime in
November, I believe. The topic of
the night was about the irresponsible
gun owning father, that let his young
son fire a fully automatic uzi. The
boy shot himself and was killed. That
night I had been listening in to your
show, and I heard you asking why any
of us would need a "semi-automatic"
weapon. This immediately struck me
as being a little odd because semi
automatic weapons include almost all
handguns (if you include revolvers)
and many rifles/shotguns. You also
talked about how the 2nd Amendment
stated that a militia was needed for
the defense of freedom against foreign
enemies, and enemies within our borders,
but currently with the armed forces,
a militia is no longer necessary.
I called, hoping to be able to get
my thoughts across in the time frames
you have allotted between commercials.
I learned during our discussion, that
you were somewhat "unknowledgeable"
in the field of firearms, so there
was somewhat of a misunderstanding
right off the bat.
I don't know why, but that call popped
into my head recently and I felt I
needed to try and email you my thoughts
that I feel weren't presented in the
way they should have been.
I
need you to know, I am not a radical.
I don't own a gas mask (something
you asked if I had), and I don't belong
to a state militia, but I do believe
that there are certain rights that
we need to protect to preserve our
own freedoms. My argument stems from
the fact that aside from the leverage
held by holders of U.S. currency (which
is hanging on by a thread), our right
to bear arms is the only real force
we would have to protect ourselves
from this government or any other
threat for that matter. Less than
one percent of crimes in this country
are conducted using assault style
weapons. An even smaller percentage
than that involve Class III weapons
(which are stamped and registered
by the ATF. Weapons that fall under
this category are fully automatic
rifles and pistols, short barrel rifles
and shotguns, and certain "legal"
types of explosive devices). Most
crimes are carried out by criminals
using cheap and unregulated handguns.
The reason I say this is because I
get the impression from you that you
do not see the need for anyone to
own weapons like these.
The problem with that view, is that
you aren't realizing that the vast
majority of gun owners are law abiding
citizens. I do believe it is the duty
of every single gun owner to be responsible
with their firearms, because these
things are meant to take lives, but
nonetheless, I strongly agree that
the constitutional right to bear arms
is a foundational right of a law abiding
citizens of this country. "All
the government has to do is press
a button, and they'll drop chemical
bombs on us if they have to. Let's
be honest, what are a bunch of people
with handguns in their sock drawers
going to do against that?"..This
is a quote from you on the night we
spoke (from the best of my memory).
Leslie, with all due respect, wouldn't
that give the law abiding citizens
of this country more reason to be
allowed to have some of the best weaponry
available to the public? And if you
honestly believe that hundreds of
thousands if not millions of people
(including many active members of
our current military) wouldn't take
up arms (God forbid) in a situation
like this to salvage what might be
left of this country, I must disagree
with you. Many people will not just
crawl up into a ball in a corner somewhere.
You also said we "used to"
have a milita back in 1776, to fight
the Red Coats at Lexington and Concord.
You then went on to say that the militia
now is the United States Armed Forces.
That statement couldn't be further
from the truth. The government used
and called on State Militias all the
way into the Civil War (for both sides).
The use of State Militias by the government
has diminished (due to the development
of the superior fighting force known
as the US Armed Forces), but that
doesn't mean state wide militias ever
disappeared. Some might say that the
National Guard is a state milita,
but the constitutional milita was
to not be active during times of peace.
Also, the national guard is so linked
to the US Army that there is no discernment
between the two. The National Guard
is also not controlled, funded or
organized by the state, but by the
US government. Current state militia's
are under the control of the Governor
of that state. Members reside in that
state and operate under the order
of their Governor. They are totally
self sufficient and unpaid.
Please
do not use the 2nd Amendment as a
way to proctect the rights of hunters
and hunters alone (who's high powered
rifles are more powerful than "assault
weapons" or handguns). That was
in no way the purpose of the 2nd Amendment,
and no where in the constitution does
it say anything about hunting. It
was written very clearly that the
right to bear arms was most importantly
for defense of the individual against
government. Also keep in mind, that
all firearms were developed out of
necessity in war. At one point all
of these weapons were "assault
weapons", and one is no less
lethal than the other.
Leslie,
I mean no disrespect to you or your
views. I appreciate the time you take
to talk about government, politics,
and social issues. I'm glad that there
are people like you talking about
these things. God Bless, thanks for
reading this and take care.
Greetings
Leslie
Becuase
of the hours I work, I cant always
listen to your program.
You
have CLASS BIG TIME.
Leslie,
I just listened to your show tonight
on April 1, 2009 and I was disturbed
that you didn't call Andrew, the conservative
on his repeated statements that Obama
lied. He said that Obama said "No
earmarks" when in fact Obama
talked about reducing earmarks, which
were fewer in this last budget that
was completed before he took office!
Also, it was John McCain who said
he would veto any budget which contained
earmarks, and now tries to attribute
that to Obama. He never said he would
veto earmarks, but committed to reducing
them and perhaps eliminating as many
as possible. So, I wish you had straightened
Andrew out on that point. If he calls
back, please do that. I enjoy your
show whenever I get a chance to hear
it.
